Russ has 36 years of experience in Information Technology and Cybersecurity, spanning multiple industries and a wide spectrum of changing technologies. Prior to his role as Manager of Information Services, and now CIO, at Kassouf, Russ was the founder and CEO of a local IT firm that grew to prominence as one of area’s leading firms for healthcare technology. He was directly responsible for hundreds of clients, involved as a business consultant, project manager and support provider. His experience as both a solution provider and a business owner gives him a unique insight into his client relationships.

Areas of specialty include cybersecurity, project management, business start-up, systems implementation, infrastructure planning, vendor management, cost and resource analysis, security assessment, and disaster recovery and resiliency planning.

One of Russ’ core beliefs is outreach and education. He is a past President of the InfraGard Birmingham Members Alliance,  and currently serves on the Board of TechBirmingham.
