Kassouf Tax Manager Keri Morton, CPA, advises businesses and high-net-worth individuals on complex, multi-state income tax matters. Her work centers on helping clients understand not just what they owe, but why, and how decisions made today can shape future tax outcomes. From business expansion to multi-entity ownership, she brings clarity to situations where tax complexity often slows progress.
With hands-on experience across nearly every state that imposes a true income tax, Keri offers a rare, nationwide perspective on how differing state rules impact organizations and their owners. She works across entity types and industries, navigating multi-state compliance, tiered structures, and large corporate filings, while helping clients anticipate obligations before they become problems.
Keri’s experience spans a wide range of industries, including healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, insurance, banking, and finance. She has worked extensively with multi-state, multi-tiered structures as well as consolidated corporate entities, giving her the ability to connect details across complex organizations and identify tax implications that may not be immediately visible.
In addition to compliance, Keri supports income tax planning for closely-held businesses and family office structures. She believes tax should be part of the conversation early, whether a client is considering a new investment, restructuring ownership, or planning for long-term wealth. Nearly every financial decision has a tax impact, and her role is to help clients understand those implications before they act, not after.
Before joining Kassouf, Keri spent nearly a decade with a Big Four accounting firm, where she developed a strong foundation in managing complex engagements and high-volume, multi-state filings. That experience informs her structured, proactive approach today, combining technical expertise with disciplined project management and practical problem-solving.
Keri values the relationship side of tax as much as the technical work. She enjoys working closely with clients, understanding their goals, and serving as a trusted advisor alongside attorneys, wealth advisors, and other professionals. Her approach is grounded in the belief that tax should support broader decision-making, not operate in isolation.
She is also committed to mentoring and developing team members, finding purpose in teaching and helping others connect technical knowledge with real-world application.
