Our experts will provide practical strategies and insights to help you make informed financial decisions amidst potential legislative changes. 

This complimentary workshop will be offered in a hybrid format with a limited amount of in-person spots, which include lunch. The in-person portion will take place at Kassouf, located at 2101 Highland Avenue South in Birmingham. Virtual registrants will receive Zoom login details by January 16. 

CPE: This workshop has been approved for 1.8 credits in Other/Tax through the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy. 

About Our Experts

Joel Jones, CPA, CIA, CVA, ABV, CFF, CGMA®Joel is a Director in Kassouf’s Business Services Group. He provides tax, consulting, and transactional advisory services to businesses and individuals operating in wholesale distribution, retail sales, real estate development, professional services and investments. Based in our Auburn office, he specializes in family-owned businesses, partnership and corporate taxation, multi-state taxation, not for profits and works in the firm’s business valuation area. He frequently teaches continuing education classes for staff and clients of Kassouf and is an instructor for the Accounting and Tax Training Institute at the Auburn University Office of Professional & Continuing Education.

Sarah S. Johnston, JD, LLM, AEP®: Sarah is Shareholder in Dentons Sirote’s Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation section in Birmingham, Alabama. Since 2004, she has represented clients in estate and tax planning, trust and estate administration, trust and estate litigation, wealth preservation, and business succession planning. Sarah also regularly advises clients with estate planning for retirement. Designated as an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®) by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, Sarah drafts wills, trusts, prenuptial agreements, and a wide array of documents to assist with planning for estate taxes, wealth transfer, blended families, special needs, and incapacity.
