Louis Paul Kassouf was Chairman of the Board, Emeritus of L. Paul Kassouf & Co., P. C. at the time of his death in 2008. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 14, 1921. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham Southern College in 1942 and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago in 1946. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Beta Gamma Sigma. He received his Alabama Certified Public Accountant Certificate No. 300 in 1954.
Mr. Kassouf was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alabama Society of CPAs and the Birmingham Chapter of the Alabama Society of CPAs, Rotary Club of Birmingham, the Birmingham Estate Planning Council, and numerous other professional and civic organizations.
He was also past President of the Alabama Society of CPAs and the Birmingham Chapter of the Alabama Society of CPAs and held various other offices in each organization. He was a former Member of Council of the Alabama Society of CPAs and served on numerous committees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He served as a member of the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy from 1975 to 1985.
